Tournament prospectus
County of Oxfordshire Junior, Intermediate and Novice Indoors 2026, to be held on 21st March 2026.

Event Format
Portsmouth rounds to be shot in accordance with Archery GB Rules of Shooting. Arrows will be shot in ends 3 arrows in 2 minutes. There will be four archers per target (two per face).

Awards
Medals will be awarded to 1st-3rd in each category by gender and bowstyle. There are also trophies for the highest scoring male and female recurve junior, irrespective of age. Awards will be made in County and Visitor categories separately.

Dress
Archers need to dress according to the AGB Rules of Shooting, in particular club shirts are strongly encouraged!
Drug testing
Archers competing at record status tournaments may be liable to drug testing. Competitors who are approached to give samples must comply. Non-compliance will be treated as a positive result. Parents/Guardians must check the relevant box on the entry form giving consent for junior archers (under 18s) to be drug tested if approached.
Important information
Timing
There are two sessions, with assembly 11:45am and 2:45pm. Each session should last around 2 and a half hours. Please aim to arrive around half an hour before shooting commences so you can be set up and registered ready to start on time. The round will be preceeded by two ends of sighters.
Venue
The shoot is in the main sports hall at Didcot Girls School. Park in the main car park off Manor Crescent. Head to the right of reception along the fence and follow the path round. When you pass some containers on the left, turn left and the entry to the hall is on the right, next to the bike parking.

Entry is open to members of the County of Oxfordshire Archery Society and visitors. Entry is open only to the following categories:
Juniors - U16, U15, U14, U12 based on your year of birth.
Novices - 50+, Adult, U21 and U18 who started a beginners course from October 2024 onwards.
Intermediates - 50+, Adults, U21 and U18 who have never achieved a Bowman 3rd class classification, indoors or outdoors, in any bowstyle, and did not enter the main championship in November.
New for 2026 - Portsmouth 10 round for U10s (born in 2017 or later), and older children for whom the full distance round is too challenging. This experimental round will be shot at 10 yards instead of 20 yards. Awards will be given in the U10 category, other age groups subject to entries.
If the shoot does not fill, additional spaces may be offered to other archers from 1st February onwards.
